Lil Abner-

Daisy Mae-Beautiful DAISY MAE (Scraggs) was hopelessly in love with Dogpatchs most prominent bachelor Lil Abner through the entire 43 year run of Al Capps comic strip. During most of the epic Abner took Daisy for granted. He exhibited little romantic interest in her voluptuous charms (much of it visible daily thanks to her trademark polka-dot peasant blouse). In 1952 Abner reluctantly proposed to Daisy Mae to emulate the wedding of his comic strip ideel, Fearless Fosdick.
